We have already discussed benefits of commenting (and commenting on do-follow blog), if you are getting per day 3 (minimum) visitor by just commenting on a blog and suppose you comment on 20 blogs daily than you get 60 visitors by doing nothing (i.e. without adding a new post at your blog). But this number can be increased significantly (from 3 to 7) if you comment on those blog which have CommentLuv enabled, because these blog in-spite of giving you back-link from your name gives you a direct link to your last blog post which most of the visitor may click.
Its pretty obvious that any reader will click on a materialistic link rather than clicking on your name.

There’s a positive & negative effect on using the two reader appreciation plug-ins. Spam will surely increase that’s why when I use Commentluv, I didn’t turn off the moderation mode. The bright side is it at least increases your traffic a little and promotes discussion and conversation on your blog.

I like it. It avoids some problems with trackbacks. For instance the commenter is verified as human (on most sites) while a trackback can be created by a robot and is therefore often abused. I also see that I do not have to run Comment Luv myself. Further I see that there is no verification that I own the blog. I suppose little harm can be done by sending traffic and crawlers to someone elses site but still it would be nice if the system verified ownership.

Not as for giving links but it directs readers directly to the latest updates that the commenter has written in his blog. Also, I have never seen a plugin like this since I started blogging. It’s irreplaceable.

I am in complete agreement commentluv promotes good commenting. There is scrounging around trying to figure out how to get your key word out there. You add your key word and leave solid comment and become part of the online conversation.
I had the CommentLuv plugin installed on my site for a while and can attest to the fact that comments increased.
If you run a very socially-orientated website the plugin is def. a must have.

I’m in the process of trying to integrate CommentLuv on my blog, as I definitely agree that it encourages others to visit your blog and drop a comment. I used to have it on my old blog, but took a little break from blogging. I’ve been having a little trouble setting it up with the theme I’m using (it’s a theme from ThemeForest). I’m going to look into the Thesis them, as I heard it works with CommentLuv, and is a great theme as well.
Sometimes blog comments can be a little higher, but if they really humble, it’s great that so many people involved as possible.
