How to know if a blog is do-follow or no-follow
We all know the benefits of commenting on do-follow blog, for those who don’t know I can say in simple words that if you comment on a do-follow blog than you will get a backlink from that blog. So for instance if you comment on a PR 4 dofollow blog than you will be getting backlink from that blog which really matters. Backlinks from higher PR blog will definitely helps you to gain higher PR.
But the question is how to know which blog is do-follow and no-follow, well one way is to look at the source code of the link and look for no-follow tag. But if you have firefox browser than you don’t have to worry about it, all you have to do is to download the nodofollow Addon and it will tell you if a blog is dofollow or not.
Once you have installed this addon than visit any website for which you want to check whether it is do-follow or not and open any post than right click on the post and select NoDoFollow from the context Menu.
As soon as you click on NoDoFollow menu item you will see all the links in that page highlighted in 2 colors either Blue or Red. If the link is Blue than it is Do-Follow and if the links ar eRed than it is No_follow.
The above picture is from my comments section of Clean Junk files with Quick Clean post and as you see the links are blue that means mine is a do-follow blog. Remember that you only need to check whether comments links are blue or not, because this is where you will get your backlink.
So is your blog is dofollow or nofollow?

Being new to to blogging world, I now understand that “dofollow” links are the way to go but I’ve also read that “nofollow” links are important as well, being that Google likes natural structure as opposed to on one sided build up of links.

I use SEO quake and “seo for firefox” plugin to get the same thing. I think the main thing is how to find quality do follow blogs. I mean blogs with less OBL and some great quality comments. No matter if it is moderated because ultimately backlink from such less SPAM blog will definitely help.

Ok, great plugin…I use Google Chrome with the SEO extension and that works great as well!
A question, if I am looking through a blog that has no comments on it, is there a way to tell if it will be dofollow or nofollow (without posting a commment myself)?
Thanks

I don’t think so, you need at-least 1 comment to check whether it is do-follow or not

I totally agree with the article’s author, I am using a website to check the blog dofollow or Not. I have done it by downloading the browser version of Molizafirefox feedback to check every time I want to leave your comment on that blog. Of course when it can check out exactly if Not DoFollow blog content by not posting your comments on that blog.

Hey this is not like your URL will become dofollow, its just that as mine is a dofollow blog, so you will get a backlink from a PR 4 blog that’s it.
