Microsoft remarks a new improvement and a new way to see Instant messengers with its new Windows Live Messenger beta or Wave 4. Some cool features of Windows Live Messenger worth noticing are enlisted below-

Inbuilt support to Social websites:

Windows Live Messenger now let you see and comment recent updates and social activities of your contacts right inside from your Instant Messenger.

Set status from thumbnail preview:

Live team has made a good use of thumbnail preview to set the status of Windows Live messenger you can set your status to be Availble, Busy, Away or offline right from the thumbnail preview.

On click button to toggle between compact and full view:

Click on the top-right side corner button to turn Messenger into compact view or to full view.

Disable ads from Windows Live Messenger:

If you want to disable these ads, go to System32\Driver\etc folder and take full control of Hosts file. Open it and add the following line in it. Save it.
127.0.0.1 rad.msn.com
That’s it!

Choose a different sound for each contact:

Now you can choose a different sound scheme for each contact. Just right click on the contact name and select “Choose sound”

Apple Offline for a particular contact:

Appearing offline to one particular contact till now isn’t possible but now yo can, you can go offline for a particular contact while keeping your status available for others. Cool huh!
