6 Ways You can Increase your Blog Subscribers

Creating a blog is a simple process but, keeping it current and loaded with traffic is a difficult task. In order to have a profitable blog it is crucial that you get traffic to the site. Learning and implementing new ways to increase the amount of traffic always remains on the priority list of all bloggers. Though, online world is filled with hundreds of thousands of tips to increase the blog traffic. We’ve compiled a list of tips you can follow to increase your blog subscribers.

Make it Easy for your Readers

– Remember your readers are too busy to subscribe to your blog so make your subscription process as easy as possible. Keep your subscription process above the fold so that it remains easily visible to all your readers. Keep your subscription forms short and simple in case if you are using customized subscription forms. Also you can use WordPress plugin “Subscribe-Remind” which will put a short text with the link to your subscription form reminding your readers to subscribe to your blog.

Offer more to the Subscribers

– Well, if you want your readers to convert themselves to your subscribers you need to offer something extra then your regular readers. It could be anything you can think of – a free e-book, a marketing report, free software, discount codes or a premium WordPress theme. You just need to bribe them to subscribe to your blog. This strategy will only work if your email subscription is attached with an auto-responder.

Develop relations with other bloggers

- It is one of the overlooked but still an effective method to increase your blog subscribers. Comment on other blogs in the niche, do guest posts on them, subscribe to them and you will start seeing an increase in your subscriber numbers. Think of the ways you can help other bloggers and can develop lifelong relations with the real people behind those blogs.

Sending customized emails to commentators

– You can use WordPress plugins like “Comment Relish” or “Thank me Later” to send customized emails to the readers who leave a comment on your post containing a link to subscribe to your blog.

Offer a Full RSS Feed

– Adding new subscribers to blogs that offer a full RSS feed is much easier than blogs that offer only teasers in their feed in hope that readers will click the links to read the complete post.

Hide RSS Count

– Showing number of RSS subscribers on your blog could put a negative effect especially when you’ve very less subscribers (less than 50). It is a human psychology that most of the people don’t like to test new things. They won’t subscribe to your blog if they see that no one else is subscribing to it. That said, once you’ve subscribers in three digits, display it on your blog proudly.

No blogger can afford to overlook the importance of blog subscribers. Your Blog subscribers are the most loyal reader base of your blog. You can’t control the amount of traffic you’ll get from search engines, paid ads, incoming links etc. The only thing under your control is the list of your blog subscribers. So make sure that you follow as many tips as possible to increase your subscriber base. Do you know of any other tip which you’d like to add to the current article?
