Fixing Mass Storage Controller Driver not working in Windows 7

Sometimes when you install Windows 7 in your laptop machines then the issue of driver installations may arise. It is not only Mass Storage Controller driver, it can be any driver. People using Acer machines have reported this error quite often. However, you need not to worry, because the solution is quite easy sometimes. Below things should be kept in mind before trying any solution:

  1. Always download the required drivers from laptop company’s official website i.e. Acer company site.
  2. Make sure that you download and install the drivers according to your windows installation i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit. Most of the times the issue is that you are selecting wrong file system type while downloading the drivers.
  3. If you do not find appropriate drivers from the website (which is not the case most of the times) then you should go for manual installation from windows. For such installation of driver, follow these steps:
  • Go to Control Panel and then go to Device Manager.
  • Check for the devices which have yellow sign against them. It means that their driver is not installed.
  • Right click on each device and select properties.

  • From there, go to the driver update and select the driver manually based on your device specifications.
  • You can also go to Details tab, and get hardware ID from there.
