The latest operating system developed by Microsoft is Windows 7. Containing many improved features, the operating system has some issues in startup sound. The startup sound of Windows 7 is same as of Windows Vista. The sound feels good for some days but eventually it starts irritating. That’s why many users are searching for the process to turn the start up sound off. Following steps will help you turn off or disable the start up sound in Windows 7.
This process is not for Windows 7 home premium x64 users as it requires opening of Gpedit.msc, which cannot be opened by windows 7 home premium version. Other users can proceed with the following steps:
- Type gpedit.msc in the Run Window.
- Go to Computer Policy > computer configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Logon.
- Select the option of ‘Enabled’ in ‘Turn off Windows Startup Sound’ and click Apply.
- Click OK.
Home premium X64 users can follow below process.
- Open the registry editor by typing regedit in run window.
- Go through HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Authentication > LogonUI > BootAnimation
- Change the value of disable startup sound to 1.
