Window XP Quick Launch Toolbar is one of the popular features among many Windows users. However, it is not displayed by default in Window 7. In this article we will tell you how to show the Quick Launch bar in Window 7.
- Go to “My Computer” > “Organize” and select “Folder and Search Option”
- Click on “View” and click on “Show hidden files, folders, and drives” under the “Hidden files and folders”. Click OK
- Right click on the taskbar and go to “Toolbars” > “New Toolbar …”
- Write following path in the text bar of newly opened window “C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch”
Note: [username] is the user name of the user account from which you have logged on
- Click on “User Pinned” and click on “Select Folder”. This will add the “Quick Launch” bar on the taskbar.
- Right click on a taskbar and unselect “Lock the taskbar”
- There will be a line with three dots on the left side of “Quick Launch”, use the mouse to grab the tool bar and move it to the right side near the Windows Orb (Start) button
- Click on the Quick Launch toolbar and unselect “Show Text” and “Show Title” to remove the text from the toolbar
- Finally right click on the task bar and check “Lock the task bar”
