Internet explorer 8 is one of the most popular browsers offered by Microsoft. However, sometimes it poses some problems and its performance suffers. There are some tips and tricks, which can boost the performance of internet explorer.
Eradicate unnecessary extensions and accelerators:
- Go to tools > Manage Add-ons.
- Disable all the unnecessary Add-ons. Also disable the unnecessary search providers and accelerators in the add-on types.
Boost up downloads:
- Open Registry Editor and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Internet Settings
- Reset the decimal value of MaxConnections PerServer and MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server to 10 in the panel on right side.
Save time
- Go to tools > Internet Options> Browsing History settings.
- Change the setting of “Check for Newer Versions of Stored Pages” to ‘Automatically’.
Cache Configuration:
- Go to History settings. Set the value of Disk Space to use by Cache to default setting of 50mb.
Delete all the garbage:
- Go to Tools > delete browsing history. Check the options of temporary internet file and press delete.
Pop-up Blocker:
- Go to Internet Options > Privacy > turn on Pop-up Blocker.
LAN settings:
- Go to Tools >Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings. If you don’t need automatically detect settings, then uncheck it.
