In this tutorial we will show you how to do a clean installation of Windows 7 over Windows XP.
Steps:
- First of all Transfer all your data to an external disk using Windows Easy Transfer (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/windows-easy-transfer)
- Download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor
- Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to make sure that your hardware and drivers are compatible with Windows 7.
- Now enter the Windows 7 installation disk in your DVD Rom.
- Click on “Custom(Advanced)” option to install the Windows 7
- After the installation process is completed, run the Windows Easy Transfer to move back the files and settings you have saved.
Note: Do not install any program before running Window Easy Transfer. - Now install the programs in your Windows 7 and update your system drives.
