Enabling Presentation Mode in Windows 7 desktop PC

All versions of Windows 7 are provided with the mobility centre or presentation mode, irrespective of running on laptop or desktop pc. In desktop PC, it is disabled by default. However it can be enabled by making slight change in the registry. Follow the given procedure to enable the presentation mode in desktop pc.

Steps:

  • Log on to the pc as an administrator.
  • Click start and open run window. Type “regedit” in Run Window to open the Registry Editor.
  • Browse to the key “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft” in the Registry Editor.
  • Right click the key and click on New to create new key. Assign “mobilePC” as a name to new key.
  • Now create two sub keys and named them as “adaptablesettings” and “mobilitycenter”.
  • Right click the “adaptablesettings” and enter “SkipBatteryCheck” by clicking on “NewDWORDvalue”.
  • Change its value to 1.
  • In the same way, now right click “mobilitycentre” and enter “Run on desktop” by clicking on “NewDWORDvalue”.
  • Set its value to 1.
  • Close the registry editor.
  • Now open the run command and type “mblctr” to access the mobility centre. Creating a link for the command on desktop will give you extra convenience to access the mobility centre.
