Every time a computer gets back from sleep mode or power saving mode it asks for the password. It can be annoying for some users. That’s why many computer users want to disable this function. Luckily this function can be disabled easily be exploring the Power Options of the system. It needs to follow a proper procedure in order to disable the password prompt. The procedure is given below:
- Click Start > Control Panel >System and Security > Power Options
- View the selected power scheme on your machine. To change it click “Change Plan Settings”
- Now you need to click the “Change Advanced Power Settings”.
- A window will appear but it will not have option to negate password prompt.
- So click “Change Settings That Are Currently Unavailable”. With this, the option of “Require a Password on Wakeup” will appear.
- To deactivate password prompt, select “No”.
- Exit by clicking “OK” on all the windows
So by following the above steps you can successfully disable the password prompt. Now every time your computer is back from sleep mode, you will not need to enter the password again.
