Computer users are always looking for shortcuts to quickly access their desired items either from desktop or in start menu without the hassle of finding in folders. There are many ways with which they can quickly access their desktop items or other programs from the start menu. Some of the methods are described below:
- Create a new folder and copy your frequently used .exe files into it. Right click the .exe file and select Pin to Start Menu.
- Go to your desired folder. Right click on it and drag it to start menu button and drop it there.
In windows vista you can also add your desired folder in the place of some less used folders of the start menu. For this what you need to do is first disable the showing of the folder you are going to replace.
- For this open Properties > Start Menu > Customize > don’t display this item.
- Then download the VB script from kellys-korner and run it.
- In the given space, enter the path of the desired folder.
- Click ok and Reboot the computer.
- Now open the start menu and go to Properties> Start Menu > Customize > Display This Item > Apply > OK.
