Many times a computer user wonders whether the image he/she is looking at is original or tempered. In this article we will show you how to know whether image is tempered or original with the help of a small utility named as “JPEGSnoop”. The advantage if this small utility is that it can process few video formats and one document format along with the image formats as well. Following are the supported formats:
Following are the steps you need to perform:
1. Download “JPEGSnoop” from http://www.impulseadventure.com/dl.php?file=JPEGsnoop_v1_3_0.zip
2. Open the utility and then click on File > Open Image.
3. Select the file in any of above mentioned formats and click on “Open” button.
4. Go to the “*** Searching Compression Signatures ***” section. Here you can see in front of “ASSESSMENT” if the image is edited or not.
