How to install and run Windows XP using Microsoft Virtual PC in Windows Vista?

In this article we will show you how to install Windows XP inside Windows Vista. Following are the steps:

1. Download the “Microsoft Virtual PC” software.

2. Open the Virtual PC.

3. Click on the “New” button to create the Virtual PC.

4. Select the “Create Virtual Machine” from the available options and click next.

5. Type the name of Virtual Machine and press next.

6. Select the operating system you want to install in your system, in our case its Windows XP and press next.

7. You can adjust the RAM here, which will be used to run the Windows XP in virtual machine or you can go with the default and press next.

8. Select where you want to install the Windows XP in your hard drive and set the allocated size.

9. Click on Next and then on Finish.

10. A console window will open, click on “Action” and then on the “Start” to start the process.

11. Now insert the Windows XP CD and then press Enter.

12. Now install the Windows XP and after completion you can use the Windows XP and install the software’s in it.

13. You can close it by clicking on the “Close” button on the top right corner of the window.
