how to add custom ringtones

How to Set Custom Ringtones in HTC HD7?

HTC HD7 is the first Windows Phone 7 device by T mobiles. It was launched on 8th November 2010. The phone is delivering satisfied performance with 16GB internal memory, 5 megapixel Camera, 4.3 inch display and wireless options, etc. However there are few exceptions which the users are not appreciating. One of such exceptions is the inability of this Windows Phone 7 to add custom ringtones. It only allows the users to use the inbuilt ringtones. Users can not buy or use any other ringtone. This is the most basic feature which this phone should have.

This issue is being confirmed by Microsoft – the developer of Windows Phone 7. All the users of Windows Phone 7 are expecting the Microsoft to add this feature.

Some people have tried to add custom ringtones but that method is quite risky as it voids warranty as well as the method is not certain.

It really is a shame they didn’t implement this feature in the first place. It’s just on of the things user don’t really spent time thinking about because you should always have the ability to do it. What’s in it for microsoft if users have to jailbreak their phone in order to get a basic feature of mobile phones?

You can get ringtones by downloading webtones from marketplace then use iwfr net or mobango copy the ringtone you want URL and paste in webtones then save it goes straight to your ringtones

I find it ridiculous that they would make a phone without the ability to create customer ringtones. What is the point of having a smart phone if even a crappy phone from 10 years ago can do what this one cannot. Basic app of any phone, not included in this one. I wonder who the genius was who had the idea, “hey let’s not let people make their own ringtone… yeah that’s a great idea!”

    use Zune
To qualify as a ringtone, a sound file must be:
    1. 39 seconds or shorter
    2. smaller than 1 megabyte (MB)
    3. saved in MP3 or WMA format
    4. not copy-protected (i.e. DRM free)

In short, custom ringtones can be installed using the Zune software on your PC. Once you’ve created an audio file that meets the ringtone requirements, find it in your Zune music collection, right-click the file, and change the Genre field to Ringtone. Then just sync the file to your phone like you would any music track.
