1. Windows Management
You can use mouse to dock the window on the left or right. You can maximize the window by dragging it to the top of screen or maximize it vertically by double clicking on the top or bottom border. You can also use keyboard shortcuts to do the same.
- Window + Left Arrow or Window + Right Arrow to dock the window on the left/right side.
- Window + Up Arrow or Window + Down Arrow maximize or minimize/restore the window
- Window + Shift + Up Arrow or Window + Shift + Down Arrow to maximize and restore the window size vertically.
2. Multi-Monitor Windows Management
You can also manage the window positions on multi monitor screens by using Window + Shift + Left Arrow or Window + Shift + Right Arrow to set their position according to the top left point of the screen.
3. The Black Box Recorder
Windows 7 has come up with a great tool for the developers, named as “Problem Steps Recorder”. It can be found by writing following command in the search bar of start menu “psr.exe”. Its functionality is when you press record, it keep track of mouse and keyboard events and also take snap shots of the screen and when you stop recording it creates a zip file, which contains the HTML based slide show file. You can also associate the appropriate the comments with each snap.
4. Standard Support
Windows 7 has added many features in the “Word Pad”. Word Pad can open the Word 2007 compatible office Open XML files and also the Open Document Specification files, which is developed by SUN and IBM.
5. Running With Elevated Rights
Windows 7 has also added the feature of assigning the administrative rights to the file or folder by using following keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shit + Click on the file, the file will be opened with administrative rights
