The icon of Recycle Bin at desktop is quite handy. Sometimes it happens that there are too many windows opened at the same time and the icon of Desktop is hidden behind these windows. In Windows 7, there is a very handy trick with which we can quickly access the Recycle Bin from the Start Menu. To do this, follow the given procedure.
- Press the button of Start Menu Orb and type or paste the path “%AppData%MicrosoftWindowsStart Menu” without quotes
- Hit Enter and click on Programs
- It will open the explorer window. In the blank area, right-click and from the context menu, click on New > Shortcut
- Type the following syntax in the location field
explorer.exe shell:RecycleBinFolder
- Click Next
- Give the name to the shortcut and press the button of Finish to create the shortcut of Recycle Bin
- To give it complete look, it is good to give it an icon. To change the icon, right-click the shortcut and click on Properties. Click on the tab of shortcut and then click the button of Change Icon. Give the following address in the change icon window
%SystemRoot%system32imageres.dll
- Select the icon of Recycle Bin and hit the button of OK. Again press the button of OK to exit the Properties window
From now onwards you can access the Recycle Bin any time by typing recycle in the start menu.
