Using Qt TabBar to add Tabbed Browsing in Windows Explorer

Having tabbed browsing in windows explorer will make things too convenient for you. There is a small windows add-on “QT TabBar” that can be used to add the tabbed browsing feature in Windows Explorer. Here is the guide that will show the process to add this feature.

  • Download and install the QT TabBar from the internet.
  • Restart Windows Explorer.
  • Open any folder. Right click on the menu bar and click QT TabBar. If the menu bar is invisible then go to Organize > Layout and check the option of menu bar.

Some of the notable features of QT TabBar are:

Managing tabs:

  • To open new tab, press ctrl – N
  • To close the tab, right-click the tab and select Close.
  • To open the folder in a new tab, middle-click it.

Adding more buttons:

  • To get an additional tool bar, right click on menu bar and select QT Tab standard buttons.

Create groups:

  • To add tabs in a group, right-click the tab and click on Create New Group. Add the tabs to the group one by one.
  • To open all the tabs at once in a group, press the icon of group and select the group.
