In Windows Vista, there is a security component named as User Account Control. It separates the functions of users and administrators and is a source of increased productivity. While using computer, UAC repeatedly prompts the user by showing pop-ups. Many users get irritated with these prompts and wish to disable it.
Following steps should be followed to disable the User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista.
- Go to Control Panel. In the search box, type UAC. Click the option of “turn user account control (UAC) on or off”.
- You will get prompt by the UAC dialog box. Press the Continue button.
- In the resulting window, uncheck the option of “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer”. Press the ok button.
- You will be prompted to restart the computer. Select the option of Restart Now.
After reboot you will no longer be irritated by User Account Control pop-ups.
