How to Disable Windows Defender in Win Vista?

Windows defender is by default enabled on Windows Vista. It is a free spyware and malware scanner by Microsoft. It can also be downloaded for Windows Xp. The Windows Vista users who don’t feel the need for Windows Defender look for the ways to disable it. Here is the guide that can be used to disable Windows Defender in Windows Vista.

Steps:

  • Double click on the icon of the Windows Defender in the taskbar.
  • In the window of Windows Defender, select Tools and then click on Options.
  • Find the option of the Use Windows Defender and uncheck it.
  • Click the Save button to save the changes and exit the window.
  • A new window saying “windows defender is turned off” will show up. Tap the Close button.
