Creating .pst file and moving all your emails in to it is a good thing to keep your inbox clean. But the question arises, where to look for these .pst files in outlook?
Here is the process that will guide you to find .pst file in default outlook location in Microsoft outlook.
- Go to the Start menu. Type %appdata%MicrosoftOutlook in the search box and hit the Enter key.
- This will display the .pst file. Its name can be different according to the mail setup. By default outlook says it as outlook.pst
If the file is not in default location, then follow the given steps to find the file
- Open outlook and find the All Mail Items on the right side. Select Personal Folders and right-click to open the Properties for Personal Folder.
- It will open the window of Outlook Today Properties. Tap the Advanced button.
- A pop-up containing location of the .pst file will be displayed.
- Copy the location and browse it to get to the file.

Vista & Windows 7:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
Windows XP / 2000:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
