How to Make More Effective Use of To-Do Bar in Microsoft Outlook 2007?

In Microsoft outlook, one of the best features is to-do bar. It provides real deal of convenience in configuring appointments and tasks. It contains number of functionalities for effective task management. Some of its task related functionalities are described below.

  • On the Outlook To-Do bar, you can drag and drop any item such as Email or Contacts, etc. This feature will help in creating quick appointments.
  • Dragging an email on the task section of To-Do bar will create a task by using email details.
  • Task can also be creating by typing in the To-Do bar. It will appear under the Today category.
  • When the task is completed, click on the follow-up flag.
  • Right-click the follow-up flag to explore number of options such as due dates, reminders or deleting the task, etc.
  • To customize the options of To-Do bar, Right-click the header and check the options you want to enable.

Assign and Customize Category and Colors

10. Right Click the Oval next to Tasks to Assign a Task to a Category and designate the Color.  I base priority on color and that works well for me.

11. For extra details on a specific date, Hover over the Task or Calendar Item
