Windows Vista is a well performing operating system. However, some users have reported issues while upgrading the dell latitude to Windows Vista SP1 RC1. After upgrading, there gets some problem in sound card and it stops working. Adjusting the sound card only prompts the message “No Sound Device Present”.
Here is the process to fix this issue:
- Press the Start menu button and type Device in the search box.
- Hit the Enter key.
- Next to the Sound, Video and Game, tap the sign of plus.
- Select the High Definition Audio Device and select the option of Uninstall.
- In the confirmation box, press OK.
- In the Device Manager, right click the computer name.
- Click on Scan For Hardware Changes
This will restore the soundcard and it will start working again as usual.
