Registry is the most important and sensitive part of Windows 7. All the Windows settings and configurations are stored in it. Before installing an application or making changes in registry, it’s good to create its backup.

Here is how you can create the registry backup.

• Go to Start Menu. Type regedit in search box and hit the Enter key to open the Registry Editor.
• In Registry Editor, go to File > Export.
• It will show up the window of Export. Give the filename for the backup.
• Select the option given under the Export Range. You can select either “All” which will create the backup of whole registry or you can choose “selected branch” which will create backup of only selected registry key.
• After specifying the option, press the Save button.
• It will take few minutes to backup the registry. After which you can close the registry editor. This backup can be restored anytime when needed.
