There are some files that can only be opened in specific applications. Every time you need to open the file, you first need to specify the program. However, with a little trick we can make the file automatically open in the correct program. Here are the steps which will show you how to carry out the process.
Steps:
- Right click the file that you want to open. Click on Open With and select Choose Default Program.
- Windows will display the list of recommended applications. Make sure that the box of “Always Use the Selected Programs to Open This Kind Of File” is checked.
- If the program you are looking for is not among the list then click the Browse button. You can also use the search box on the top right of the Window.
- Select the program and tap the Open button. This will open the file in your specified application.
From now onwards, whenever you will try to open the file, you will notice your desired program in the list of program associations. You can add as many program associations as you want.
