The feature of visual tab in Windows 7 looks very pleasing. However, it requires the users to select the window every time to open when swapping through different programs. This process irritates the user. However, by following the certain procedure we can make the taskbar to automatically show the last active window.
Following are the steps that can make the taskbar display last active window automatically.
- Go to start menu. In search box, Type regedit to open the Registry Editor.
- Follow the given path in the Registry Editor to open the registry key.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Advanced
- Select the Advanced option. Right-click it, select New and choose the option of DWORD (32-bit) value.
- Right-click the newly created value and click on Rename. Change the name of value to LastActiveClick.
- Right-click the LastActiveClick and select Modify.
- Type 1 in the given field of value data.
- Press OK and close the Registry Editor.
- Reboot the computer.
