How to Modify the Delay of Aero Peek in Windows 7?

In Microsoft Windows 7, an Aero Peek feature appears, if user opens a number of applications, to show something on desktop. 4 seconds delay has kept as its default timing which is considered as late according to user point of view. We can set or minimize its timing by using registry editor. Here is the process of setting Aero Peek Delay:

Steps:

  • Go to Start Menu.
  • Type ‘regedit’ in search field and press Enter.
  • Search the following registry key in Registry Editor.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

  • Right click on ‘Advanced’. Go to ‘New’ and choose ‘DWORD (32-bit) value’.
  • Rename the new DWORD as ‘DesktopLivePreviewHoverTime’ that appears in next column.
  • Choose ‘Modify’ by right clicking on it.
  • DWORD tab appears. Choose ‘Decimal’ and put ‘2500’ in Value Data.
  • Click OK.
  • Restart your PC so that the settings take effect.

Set Up Completed. Just delete this new modified DWORD Aero Peek Delay, if you want default settings back.
