Windows 7 taskbar is very functional and convenient. One can also resize the taskbar thumbnails by making little changes in registry. Follow the given process to adjust the size of thumbnails.
- Go to the windows Start menu. In search box, write regedit and press Enter.
- In the Registry Editor, navigate the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Taskband
- Right-click taskband, click New and select DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Now right-click new value and click Rename. Rename it as DWORD MinThumbSizePx
- Now double-click this newly created MinThumbSizePx key to modify it. In the field of value data, you can specify the size of thumbnails depending on your screen size. Press OK.
- Now go to Start menu.
- Press together ctrl and shift key and then right-click Start menu. Select the option of Exit Explorer from the context menu.
- Tap ctrl+shift+Esc to open the task manager. Go to File > New Task.
- In the window of New Task, write explorer in the given field and press OK.
This will get the taskbar back with resized thumbnails.
