Set Password Protect Sharing in Windows 7

Password protect sharing is highly recommended on shared or public computers. This way you can ensure confidentiality of your documents. The given process will show you how to enable or disable the password protected sharing in windows 7.

  • Go to Start menu. Write network and sharing in the search box and press enter. Click on Network and Sharing Centre from the search results.
  • In the window of Network and Sharing, select the option of Change Advanced Sharing Settings.
  • In the window of Advanced Sharing Settings, scroll to the bottom to find the section of Password Protected Sharing.
  • Here you will find both the options to enable or disable the password protected sharing. To enable, select the option of “Turn on Password Protected Sharing”, and to disable password protected sharing, select the option of “Turn off Password Protected Sharing”.
  • After selecting the option, click Save Changes.
