How to use Online Data in Microsoft Excel 2007?

Microsoft Excel 2007 & 2010 have the feature to view online data in spreadsheets. It can track and keep the record up to date. Here is the process to use online data in Excel spreadsheet:

Steps:

  • Go to Start menu and open MS Excel.
  • Go to ‘Data’ tab and click on ‘From Web’.
  • Choose ‘GetExternalData’ in case of small Excel window.
  • Enter website URL address in Address bar as MS Excel has limited browsing functionality.
  • Open the page you need to load. A yellow tab will be appear with data tables that shows the Import ability.
  • Click the Yellow Arrow to select the data you want to use and click Import.
  • Import Data window appears. Select which cells you want to import.
  • Click on ‘Properties’ to set up Auto Refresh option of web page. Set it to 30 minutes.

You are done. Now, you can Edit, refresh and Delete the data.
