How to Block or Limit Unwanted Programs with Parental Controls

It might be possible that you want to limit specific applications in to your PC whatever the situation is. Windows 7 allows you to limit access or completely block those programs that are unwanted or you don’t need. Parental control is present in Windows 7 that is used to make limitation on everything.

First step to use Parental controls is to make a new account for windows that you want to apply in order to restrict programs. Administrator account will be the default account but you cannot apply Parental Controls on Administrator accounts due to some reasons. It could not be apply on computers that are attached with domain. People that are using Windows 7 at home could easily get this facility.

Let’s have a look at these steps to enable Parental controls.

Steps:

  • Open Windows start orb. Write “Parental” in text box and click on “Parental Controls” under Control panel.
  • You will see list of user accounts under “User” heading located right pane of window. Select desired user on which you want to apply parental controls.
  • select the radio buttonOn, enforce current settings” and then “Allow and block specific programs”.
  • Easy method to select applications is simply click on “Check All” button to easily access all applications and then uncheck applications that you don’t desire to block. Click “OK”.

If you click on “Ask an administrator for permission” button, it will ask you to enter administrator password. Input password to access to specific programs. Click “Yes”. All done
