A wonderful feature that window 7 has given is Compatibility mode. If you are working on windows 7 and you need to run older applications, windows 7 allows you to work on older applications. You can modify, edit, use applications written on Windows 95 and windows 98 in windows 7. This is quite pretty feature of compatibility mode in Windows 7
What you need is just to modify the compatibility settings. You can adjust it from executable program file or though it’s shortcut. But it’s better to make setting through program’s shortcut method. Check out these steps to see that how to run a program of Windows 95 or Windows 98 in Windows 7 by making use of Compatibility Mode.
Steps:
- Open “Start window orb”. Write click on program name e.g. Microsoft Office. You will see list menu. Select “Properties” from that menu. Properties Window for that program will appear.
- Select “Compatibility” tab located on Properties Windows. Check the option “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and select Windows service pack 3 from drop down menu. If you want to run MSI files, you cannot select mode manually, Windows 7 will choose it by itself which previous version is best for this file.
