How to allow or block programs for your child with Parental Controls

Time Limits setting

Make changes in Time limits lets you to control that at what time your child can access the computer. In time limits, you will see blocks labeled with time and days. Select blocks with mouse that you want to block or allow. This way you can set different time limits in different days. This Windows 7 feature is really great for parents.

Games setting

If you want to allow or block specific games from your child then you can do this by Games setting option.

  • Go to games settings and select the “Yes” radio button to allow your child for playing games.
  • Click on “Set game rating” to block specific games by rating. You can also block games by their name. To do so, click on “Block or Allow specific games” link and then select games.

How to block specific programs

This function will control that which non game programs your computer can use. By default your child can access all programs.

  • Go to Allow and block specific programs section and click on radio button “Will user can only use the programs I allow”.
  • Below radio button options, you will see list of all programs that you child can use. Uncheck the program that you want to block.
