There are various sounds that you listen when your Windows 7 computer do some activities. When you plug in any external device, it makes a sound. Similarly when you turn on your PC and you listen a sound when your PC boot up and this sound is known as “Windows startup sound”. There are many other computer activities that make different sounds and each sound has a unique name.
If you feel annoying with boot up sound and you wish to turn off this sound you can do so by making few clicks. To turn off Windows 7 startup sound, keep reading below steps.
- Go to start menu, write “system sound” in search text field and then click on “Change the system sounds” option located under Control Panel program.
- Sound dialog will appear which allows you to customize the system sounds. Also, you can make configuration as you like.
- Sounds window will appear. Click on Sound tab and you will see here list of Program Events. It allows you to set sounds to particular activities in Windows 7. There is a checkbox with the name “Play Windows Startup Sound” and by default it is checked. It means that the startup sound is enabled currently.
- Uncheck “Play Windows Startup Sound” and click “OK” button to apply changes. Done! Startup sound in windows 7 will be turn off without affecting the other sounds.
