Most people use CD or DVD to make installation of Operating system into their PC. If you install operating system from USB, it will take less times as compare to CD or DVD. Microsoft has introduced “Windows 7 USB/DVD Download” tool. It is free software and allows you to make Windows 7 bootable copy. This software is also used to create bootable DVDs to copy Windows Operating system in it.
How to create Bootable USB/DVD
- Download tool from the link given: http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html
- Click on “Browse” button and choose the ISO image. Click on “Next” button to proceed further.
- In the next Window, you will see two options namely “USB Device” and “DVD”. Select one option of your choice.
- In this step, you need to either insert USB device or DVD. It depends on what you selected in previous step. Click “Begin Copying” button. Bootable USB or DVD will be created for installing Windows operating system.
- Progress bar for creating bootable USB/DVD will start. After completion of process, confirmation message will appear.
- To start installation process from USB device, go to BIOS setting to set USB device as a preferred device for booting and then attach bootable USB to computer. Installation process for Windows 7 will start.
