Remove Windows 7 Homegroup from computer

Windows 7 Homegroup is a great feature that allows you to connect two or more computers that are using windows 7 operating system present on your home network and automatically share printers. You can share files between multiple computers that are placed at your home but in different rooms.

Sometimes you want to disconnect this feature from your computer because now you don’t need to take files or printer from it and today you will how to leave a homegroup in this article. Keep reading below steps. Before leaving Homegroup, it is better to download all files from it that you may need in future.

  • Go to Windows 7 start menu, type “home group” in text field and press “Enter”.
  • From Homegroup settings window, head on “Other homegroup actions” and select “Leave the homegroup” link.
  • In next window, you will see three options to choose. Click on “Leave the homegroup” option. You can also choose the option “Don’t leave, but change what I’ m sharing” that means you may need to do so at some point.
  • Now wait for sometime till it completes the process. You will see a window with a message that you successfully left the homgroup. Just click on “Finish” button and it’s done.
