How to change Aurora Screen Saver Settings in Windows 7

In windows 7, you will see no default settings for aurora screen saver. If you want to set it as screen saver, you will have to customize it yourself in windows 7 screen saver settings. There are two different ways which help you in changing aurora screen saver settings in windows 7. Here are those two procedures in steps, by which one can change settings.

  • First way to restore default settings for aurora screen saver is to download ‘Restore_Default_Aurora.zip’ folder, save it on your computer and extract .reg file from this folder on desktop.
  • Now right click on extracted .reg file and click on merge. Click on run, when prompted click on ok. The default settings are restored on your computer.
  • Now to change settings for aurora screen saver, you will use registry editor. Open it by typing ‘regedit’ in search bar from start menu, click on continue when it prompts.
  • ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Screensavers\Aurora’ is the location to go in registry editor, at right side, right click on empty area and click on new and DWORD (32-bit) value.
  • Enter DWORD name and press enter, now right click on DWORD and click on modify. Check decimal box, enter value data and click on ok. That’s it.
