In windows 7, you can set power plan for your computer and for advanced power options, you can create a shortcut which helps you to open advanced power options by default. You can keep this shortcut on desktop, in taskbar or at any other place. These are the steps for creating advanced power options shortcut in windows 7.
- First method is to use .reg file, ‘Advanced_Power_Options.zip’ is a folder which you need to download, save it on your computer and extract advanced power options shortcut on desktop.
- Now right click on this shortcut, click on properties, general tab, you will see unblock button, click on it. Advanced power options shortcut has been created, and you can move it to desktop or pin to taskbar for quick access.
- If you want to create it manually, just right click on empty space on desktop, click on new and then shortcut. ‘C:\Windows\System32\control.exe powercfg.cpl,,1’ is the location to go, type it in location bar and click on next.
- Type a name for shortcut, click on finish to complete the process. If you want to change icon for this shortcut, right click on shortcut and select properties. You can change icon from shortcut tab.
