Creating “Hardware Wizard Shortcut” in Windows 7

Windows 7 or vista has many newly embedded features and options for the better performance and ease of the user. One of them is the option of making Shortcuts of Adding hardware wizard. In older versions of windows like XP, 2000 to add a new hardware you have to open the control panel then select the option of adding new hardware and then the wizard starts up. But now in windows 7 the administrator is fully able to make shortcut of adding a hardware wizard. You can also if you have windows 7 just implement the following tips:

  1. Right click on the empty space in the desktop and click new and shortcut.
  2. Enter the following command in the location area and click on the next button at the end of the page.

C:\Windows\System32\hdwwiz.exe

  1. Name the shortcut as you like.
  2. Right click on the new Add hardware on the desktop and go the properties.

 

  1. Select the shortcut tap at the top and click to change the icon. As shown below.
  2. Copy and paste the following codeand hit enter.
  3. A variety of icons will come in front of you select any one and click Ok.
  4. Hit Ok to all windows and that is all!
