If you are a computer user then probably you know that Windows 7 is the latest release operating system and came with various nice features. There are bundles of techniques that you can apply on individual item. Let’s take an example of desktop icons. What things that you want to do with them but you can’t? Fortunately nothing! You can hide them, show them, change their size, reorder them, enable Align to grid, disable align to grid and many more. It’s really great!

By default, your desktop icons are “align to grid” in Windows 7 mean that they will be aligned automatically to grid that is invisible and ensure that each icon is horizontally placed to next icon in a neat line and vertically line up with all icons. If you want to move icons freely, you can disable this feature. To know how check out below simple steps.

Steps

Make a right click on empty desktop area and choose “View” submenu.

Here you will see a checkmark next to option named “Align icons to grid”. The option is already checked that means the “align to grid” feature is enabled.

Uncheck the box “Align icons to grid” and click “OK”. That’s it! Align to Grid feature has been disabled.

There are few drives that you used seldom like USB Flash drive, network drive, floppy drive and you want to hide after use. Windows 7 and Vista gives you a nice trick to hide drives from your computer. If you are a Windows 7 / Vista user, then be excited.

Please note that this trick will not remove drives completely from your computer. It will just hide them and Command Prompt can still access those hidden drives. You can also browse folders that are present in hidden drives by typing their full path in location bar.

To make configuration for hidden drives, follow below steps

Open Windows start menu. Write “regedit.ex” in search text field and hit “Enter”.

Search for key given below HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

If you do not find Explore key, right click on “Policies” key, select new key and then give it name: “Explorer”.

Mostly “NoDrives” key does not present in Registry Editor. If it does not exist, then right click on right panel of window and create new 32 bit DWORD. Rename it to “NoDrives”.

Double click on new key to change settings. Write “33” in Value data and choose “Decimal” radio button. Click “OK” to apply changes. Done!

By creating Dashboard Widget you can easily remain in touch with home page. This is not for those games which are played and enjoyed only in full screen mode like Farmville, MyTown but this for other small great games like Bejeweled Blitz, Nuke it, or ZynaPoker.

First of all open Safari from the Mac OS X.

Search for the game that you want to play.

As soon as the game portion appears in front of you just go to the Safari’s menu and click on the File and then select Open in Dashboard.

Only highlight that part of the game which you want to play not the whole screen, and then click the screen.

Finally at the top of the window you can see the Add button, click it.

Now the Dashboard option will come up and whenever you want to play the game just press the F12 button and the Dashboard will be in front of you.
